Missiles fly into Syria and my heart is with the people who listen to them fly overhead...,

So I could stand listing the goods of my week, following in the footsteps of some awesome friends

I have wonderful feminist manager. I had a convo today in which I asked her to call me on giving my power away
I know more than of my job then I did even 2 weeks ago.
I spend a stupid amount of time discussing budgets. But it isn’t money out of my own pocket.
Boychild plays chess now. This is fun.
Migraines are easing
Lunch today at a place where tea comes in China tea cups.

Life is good. Often complex, sometimes hard but remarkably good

I woke up this morning at 4 - due in no small part to a snow removal machine with the added pleasure of a dream about my father's funeral. I dream about my parent's deaths a lot these days - I may have some lingering grief although time has, as it does, softened it.

I have finished work until the new year - left a bit early today - hit the drug store and the LCBO and got home early. AT 5:30 I am in my pjs drinking tea and waiting for Les to return with the pizza. The stress just has melted in a large pile of goo - and I think I am going to sleep long and hard tonight.

I return to work Jan 2 to a new role. I will be a delivery manager (think relationship manager bet business and IT). It's a bit exciting, a bit intimidating, and a bit of things not yet identified. There were other very good candidates who applied so I was a bit surprised to have gotten it. My brain doesn't want to believe that I am awesome.

I am hosting Christmas dinner this year - just 10 of us I think - but it is still a 'thing' by which I mean it is by turns tiring and stressful and delightful and lovely.

I am ready for Christmas for the most part. I have to do some house prep and put some laundry away. I have to wrap some more presents and do the grocery shopping. I might make some cookies yet. Seems pretty manageable for this stage in the game.

I find myself reflecting in the sort of end of year vein already, although that is partially b/c I consider the solstice the turning point. Stay tuned for a thinky post about 2018. Not sure if I will do a year in review - I may, b.c while most recent years have felt just painful to review for one reason or another this year feels .... good. It was a good year and at the end of the day, I am and have been happy in it.

Happy holidays friends.

I made it this far in my week, it is highly likely that I will make it through to the weekend! At this point, an extra day off feels delicious although in my head I have filled it with about 4 days worth of tasks!

Work has been ... intense.

My brain feels a tad wibbly wobbly, no doubt connected to the previous point, although it was about this time last year that I seemed to take a slide.

I registered for a flute exam in August. It is giving my brain something to do besides think about work :)

Boychild turns 9 at the end of the month. I am stunned by that.

Life is good - I am mostly well, and happy and if my job is too intense for my liking sometimes at least it pays me well for it.
